 The Job:

  • To develop and maintain adequate financial and accounting systems and procedures for NSML with in-built controls, in order to provide accurate financial information, analysis and statutory reports.
  • To maintain the integrity of financial transactions in NSML’s General Ledger and ensure full compliance with relevant international accounting standards, concepts and principles.

 

The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  1.  Maintain the financial database and ensure the integrity of the ledger. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions in the General Ledger and ensure that all reconciliations are done in a timely manner.
  2. Prepare quarterly and annual Financial Statements and reports in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant accounting concepts and principles.
  3. Maintain Finance Lease schedule and ensure compliance with all relevant covenants, administrative requirements and obligations. Ensure timely and accurate booking of the related transactions.
  4. Develop, implement and update detailed procedures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) covering job function. Develop Finance Control Framework (FCF) and RACI matrix.
  5. Produce all audit schedules as may be required by auditors and investigate and promptly respond to all audit queries to ensure smooth internal and external audit processes. Follow up to resolve all internal and/or external audit issues and other enquiries (pre and post audit). This includes financial audits from government, tax and other regulatory agencies. Implement recommendations on the operation of the control systems and any other agreed recommendations by the auditors.
  6. Provide an independent check and monitor expenses and revenues arising from existing and future contracts to verify occurrence, accuracy, completeness and proper classification of transactions.
  7. Liaise with Tax Department to ensure correct computation of tax obligations including tax analysis on existing and future tax laws and tax implications on proposed Company initiatives.
  8. Carry out monthly and quarterly finance closure activities:
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of monthly financial transactions.
    • Ensure that services received but unpaid for in any month are accrued for in accordance with   relevant accounting concepts and conventions.
    • Carry out periodic inter-company accounts reconciliation with stakeholders.
    • Ensure the monthly clearing and reconciliation of all assigned balance sheet GL accounts including monthly proof of accounts submitted for review and approval.
  9. Ensure proper and orderly filing, storage and retrieval of accounting records. Act as record focal point for finance and accounting records.

 

The Person:

The right candidate should:

  • Be a current employee of an NLNG contractor with a valid NLNG Contractor ID Card
  • Possess a University Degree in Accounting or a Finance related Discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) Division.
  • Possess a professional accounting qualification: ICAN, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
  • 4 – 5 years post-graduation experience in a Finance related role. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a contractor in NLNG.
  • Be skilled in accounts operations and financial reporting
  • Possess good communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a Self-starter
  • Be fluent in English Language

Executive Assistant to MD/CEO, NSML

 The Job

  • To provide executive, administrative and development support to the Managing Director/CEO (NS) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to create and drive the implementation of an integrated business vision and strategy across the entire NSML Business.

 

The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Provides a wide variety of administrative support for the MD/CEO including; managing an active calendar of appointments, composing and preparing correspondence, arranging detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel related meetings.
  2. Plans, coordinates and ensures that the MD/CEO’s schedule is followed and respected. Provides “gatekeeper” and “gateway” roles creating win-win situations for direct access to the CEO’s time.
  3. Manage/administer the MD/CEO’s communication space both internally and externally including communications with NSML staff, shareholders, Board Secretariat etc. ensuring alignment and focus on increasing engagement within the NSML work environment.
  4. Support the  MD/CEO  through  providing  advice,  feedback  and  information,  review  of  monthly operations from all departments, matching performance with plan and highlight performance variance that has wide impact or long range effect on the operations and profitability of the company.
  5. Monitor and prepare progress reports on key activities for the MD/CEO. This includes analysis of data, develop and review presentations and follow up with Departmental focal points. Maintain representation at special meetings and committees as directed.
  6. Coordinate the preparation and monitor the implementation of the MD/CEO’s Functional Plans, dashboards, People engagement plan and budgets in liaison with Finance team to ensure cost effectiveness and optimal spend.
  7. Follow and conduct research on current developments in the industry and prepare appropriate briefs with necessary updates and data tailored to aid the MD/CEO in making necessary decisions and improvements.
  8. Participates as an adjunct member of the SLT and ELT assisting in scheduling and coordinating the respective NMC, ELT, Town hall and Integration meetings coordinating the development of the agenda of the meetings, preparing the accounts of the meetings and following up on assigned action items and parties.
  9. Support specific projects on behalf of the MD/CEO as may be required. Act as focal person for liaising with project consultants, external and strategic partners and stakeholders on behalf of the MD/CEO as may be required.

 

The Person:

The right candidate should:

  • Be a current employee of an NLNG contractor with a valid NLNG Contractor ID Card
  • Possess a University Degree in a Social Science, Management or Business Administration with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) Division.
  • 5 – 7 years post-graduation experience supporting management level Executives, preferably in the Oil & Gas and/or Maritime Industry. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a contractor in NLNG.
  • Experience in internal and external communications, business & partnership development and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Schedule and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.
  • Be skilled in board paper preparation and presentation.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a Self-starter
  • Be fluent in English Language
