NSML’s Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE) has been approved by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (UK MCA), the agency of the UK Department for Transport responsible for regulating Maritime Standards and Safety, to deliver and issue certificates for the STCW 2010 Electronics Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and Basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations courses.
These courses are mandatory for seafarers in the global maritime industry and essential for enhancing maritime safety operations, modern maritime navigation, and competence development and operational efficiency.
These aaccreditations follow a rigorous two-year review process by the UK MCA. The UK MCA accreditation is the “Gold Standard” accreditation for maritime training programs globally, and the MCOE is the first training centre in Africa certified to deliver these courses. This is a landmark achievement for NSML, a testament to the MCOE’s excellent standards, and in line with NSL’s overall sustainability and growth strategy.
