NSML marked its 10th year anniversary as an operating company on Wednesday 2nd December 2020. As part of activities to commemorate the milestone, the company organised a webinar with the theme “Winning With Our People”. The event was declared open by the MD/CEO of NSML, Abdulkadir Ahmed, whilst the keynote address was
delivered by Mr. Tony Attah, the MD/CEO of Nigeria LNG Limited. Attah, in his address, highlighted NSML’s significant role as an enabler of NLNG’s expansion drive and Fit For 50 Strategy.
At the plenary session, subject matter experts drawn from various organisations in the maritime industry provided useful insights on providing a sustainable framework for the global recognition of Nigerian maritime certificates. Also, during the event, Safety Recognition Award was given to LNG Rivers for her sterling performance as the ship with the most LTI Free Hours in the fleet. LNG Rivers has achieved 5.5 million exposure hours, travelled 2 million Nautical miles or 95 times round the earth and delivered 5.6 Million MT of LNG without a single Lost Time injury (LTI).
Awards were also given to Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Tyne Coast College and Golar LNG Limited for collaborating with NSML in the development of Nigerian Cadets. Qualified NSML personnel were honoured with Long Service Awards.
The event was well attended by Directors of the NSML Board, NLNG Executive Management and Staff, NSML Staff and various stakeholders in the local and international maritime sector. NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML), a company owned by NLNG, NNPC, Shell Gas BV, Total LNG Nigeria Limited and ENI International, commenced operations as a manning company in 2010. It has since evolved to become an international maritime services company providing a raft of top-notch maritime services with the core objective of supporting the growth and development of the Nigerian maritime industry.
